Bens getting neutered!

Hi All,

Bender is 5 1/2 months old and is scheduled to get neutered this Friday by my in-laws Vet that they have been going to for 20 years (2 generations of yorkies and shepherd-mixes).  I have searched so many different options because my regular Vet is just too darn expensive and their Vet seems to be the most logical and trustworthy.  

Ben has Giardia and is currently on Flagyl (He already did Panacur and it didn't work) so I was wondering if there are any dangers with this medicine and going under anesthesia.  My in-laws Vet says there are no complications/issues with it but my Vet says to wait until the Giardia is all gone.  I'm not sure if he's being extra cautious.  Ben is done with his meds tomorrow and is supposed to wait a month for another fecal test to see if the Giardia is gone.  Should I just wait?  Not sure what to do!  HELP!

This is one of those times where if you don't trust your vet you need to get a second opinion.  Your going to a bunch of opinions and experiences on here unless a vet decides to post.  

With that being said Finn had a parasite and was on something when he was neutered.  Everything was fine.

Thank you! I got a third and fourth opinion from different vets ( my friends vet and my sisters vet) and they said if he is eating and pooping as normal and his energy level is ok then its fine.
