Peanut butter will remove it but you have to work fast it before it dries hard. If it does get hard soften again with a hair drier set on low. Smear the peanut butter on the sap and wait 15 minutes than with fingers or wash cloth clean it off. You may have to repeat. There are several things you can use but because dogs lick their fur the Peanut butter is safe. Good luck.

No WD40 or anything toxic to dogs as they will lick it.
