Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I know that there are different classes of Doodles. What are the classes and what are the differences? Not sure the class of mine.  Mother is a pure standard poodle, and Father is pure Golden Retriever.  Any ideas what ours is??????

Your baby is an F1 - first generation goldendoodle. If an F1 is bred back to a poodle, then the puppies are considered F1B (3/4 poodle, 1/4 golden retriever).

F2@ is when an F1 is bred to an F1 - the resulting pups are F2 or second generation goldendoodles....and so foroth.

Your baby is adorable, btw. :-)

We have two F1 Goldendoodles. Go to my page and see how different they look. Kona is super curly and Owen is straighter. One is pewter colored and the other is blond with apricot accents. Deb, thank you for the explanation of the F2 and F1b. I was confused about this distinction.
Thank you for letting me know my dog is a F1.  I am learning from all the sites!  Thanks again.

Glad to be of help. My Connor is an F1 goldendoodle. He changed so much from when he was a puppy.

Here is Connor at about 4 months old - looking very much like his golden retriever mom.

Connor was 3 yrs old in Sept. 2010. He is also a featured dog in April of the 2011 IDOG calendar. (says proud mama)

Your dog is a F1 goldendoodle.  That is a first generation mix between a standard poodle and a golden retriever.  I have an

F1b which is a goldendoodle (F1) bred back to a standard poodle.  That makes him an F1b - more poodley but a great dog.
