Hi sometimes my 4 month old Doodle becomes aggressive (biting) with family members. I suspect she is overstimulated at the time (there are 6 people in my household...including 2 kids). I am putting her on a short leash nearby and ignoring her (hard to do when she barks loud). Is this appropriate? I don't want to use her crate as I don't want her to view it as a punishment. Any suggestions?

I really wouldn't call this behavior aggression. My Emma who will be 7 months on Friday, still "mouths" (mostly me) and when she is over-stimulated with my grandsons, especially my younger grandson who is 2 1/2, she gets very excited and wants to nip him. I really believe this is typical puppy behavior and you just need to be consistent about telling her "no biting". Also, when she wants to bite, replace your hand/feet, etc., with an appropriate chew toy. I think that this is something that some pups do more than others, and when appropriate the crate can definitely be used for a "time out." Hope this helps.
