Luna somehow doesn't understand that she CAN actually jump quite high.  Anytime she has to get up on anything she CLIMBS up instead of jumping and if she can't climb, she just looks at us like "a little help please?".  I suppose climbing would work if she were a standard doodle, but she is a medium and does actually have to jump to get on the bed or in the car.

She jumps just fine when she's outside (to get over our short garden fence) and she jumps on the couch just fine...and she has "accidentally" jumped on the bed a couple times (have to get her really excited first) so she can definitely do it.  She also won't jump into the car even though it's scarcely higher than the height of the couch.

Anyone else's young doodles convinced they can't jump high and climb instead? :p

I suppose I should be a little thankful because since she hasn't found her jumping legs she doesn't escape from her ex-pen...

For the longest time Murph wouldn't jump into the car, even though I knew that he could.  I bribed him with treats that he could only get if he jumped in.  It only took a couple of times, and he "got it".  I threw the treats into the back seat, left the door open and just stood there and waited.  Once he did it a couple of times he got his confidence, and it hasn't been an issue since.
Yeah we've tried the treat thing, she just looks at it and them climbs in.  It's a pretty comical sight having her clamber up the back seat, her hind legs clawing their way up :p
I wish Molly didn't know how to jump so well...she bounces around like a kangaroo.
However, she won't jump into the car just yet...but I think that's more from she's still getting over her fear of cars (she was getting carsick for a while).

Maddie (15 months & 62.4 lbs) still will not jump into the car.  She puts her front paws on the seat and then waits for us to pick up her hind end and toss her in.

She doesn't jump over our deck fence and I know she could because she does jump up on her table in the garage to get groomed.

Apparently her dad Riley (Irish setter) could scale a 6 foot fence with ease according to the breeder so we are very happy that she hasn't figured the fence out yet.

Kirby won't jump in or out of the car either.  Sometimes that is a blessing ......I can open the back (it's a SUV) and she doesn't fly outta there like my lab did.  But she is a standard, and is very tall.  It is getting a little difficult for ME!  I put her front legs up on the deck and boost her in.  The vet said that is better than having the dog jump in or out.  I let her get on the bed, and had to buy a padded bench to put at the foot of the bed or she would stay there all day...she absolutely will not jump off the bed.  When she was little she did "climb" over the baby gate like yours.

Oh Luna will jump off/out of anything... she just won't jump onto it :p  I think she may be figuring out how to jump on the bed though because it's been happening more frequently.
