Milo who is now 6 months has rarely had accidents indoor. However, at the pet store near our house they have a doggie day care, where every time we go by, the dogs are all having a blast. Everyone looks happy, the people in charge seem to be having fun, and it seems like it would be a fun place to take Milo for a couple of hours when it is raining too hard for him to play outside. Big glass walls enclose a room about the size of a gym with a couple of employees.
So here's the catch: The dogs don't go out to relieve themselves. They pee right there on the floor, and the staff cleans it up right away. I am worried that this will undo our potty training, and that Milo will come home and start peeing indoors.
I asked the staff about it, and they said the dogs know where they are supposed to pee at home, and being creatures of habit, will automatically revert to that when they get home, and don't get mixed up.
I am nervous. Of course, Milo can hold it for longer than we would leave him there, so I could make sure he went with an empty bladder.
What do you all think? Would you do it? The main appeal is how happy all the dogs in there look, and I thought what a great play date for rainy days..

I have been taking Belle to daycare now since she was 3 months old (she is almost 2 years old now). Yes, she does pee on the floor at daycare, but she has never once peed on the floor at home, so I think they are smart enough not to get confused.
My girl goes to daycare...and we haven't had problems at home (she is 5 months old)...it really helps on those days when I can't exercise her! We go a day or two a week most weeks...she LOVES it!
We worried about the same thing when we took Buddy to daycare at Petsmart and also had him stay there overnight on occassion. They don't take them outside for safety reasons and so they also go where they sleep. But we were told that they paint on a special coating so that the floor actually smells of the pheramones (sp), just like if they go outside and them smell where they went to know to go outside. We never had problems with Buddy thinking it was ok to go in the house after a stay at daycare or overnight.
They never go outside there? Our daycare takes them out for potty breaks in a playground type area pretty often. I know some of them end up going inside if they get excited (and they clean up immediately), but this has never had an effect on Peri's potty training. I would not worry about it if you trust the employees and like the place. Give it a shot.
