We have decided to add a second doodle to Max's madness. It is actually one of his sister's. The breeder still has two girls from the same litter. So of course they are the same age as Max, 17 weeks now. It is either going to be Sasha or Stormy. The breeder says that Stormy is Very active and larger and that Sasha is calmer and more of a follower. We are leaning toward Sasha from that description. Lol Max is a handful but I really think that having someone to play with is going to help him lots. Not Sure how old these photos are. The one with the red ribbon is Sasha and Stormy has the blue. We are heading out to pick one of them up in the morning.

Congrats...she is adorable. Makes me want another doodle.... and then I come back to reality.... Have fun :)
Today has been wonderful. Started off a little rough (Ruff) with the pups waking me up early. Max was so excited and just would not leave Elphie alone. Things have settled down and you can tell that they adore each other. I was able to take a shower this morning with both of them outside! Lol sometimes little things can mean a lot. Before Max would not let me out of his sight without freaking out. Now he is like "Dad Who?". They are so cute together, have calmed down, and are inseparable. We are down to one Bully Stick and it is so cute the way that they are stealing it from each other. The world's best pick pocket could not do it better. Lol they are smooooth. Going to have to start fresh with training for Elphie as she doesn't seem to know any commands. I don't think she has ever been on a leash either. Lots to do but it is really going fantastic and I couldn't be happier!!!

"At last...." that song comes to mind. What a great situation - they already love being together it looks like. Congrats.
Awwwww :) When I see them together I think of a song my friend Sarah June wrote and submitted for a children's television program. The title is "Shadows Too". Here are the lyrics.....

I like to walk with you
My shoes are red, yours are blue
Whatever we do
Our shadows are invited too
So like our shadows glue
We stick together no matter what we do
and if you ever hum a song....
I'll make the words to go along...

Waaaa makes me wanna cry *wipes tears*
They are just to cute for words together!! They look like the were made to be together forever! I love that second photo, it looks like Max is saying "Hey now who was here first?!" LOL I can't wait to hear updates!
Here is an update on our new addition. They are 18 weeks old today. It is obvious that Elphie has not been around people much. She is very very sweet but shy to human touch.

She has never been on a leash to almost disastrous results yesterday. Yesterday was Max's puppy class at Petsmart. I had gotten a collar on Elphie but she freaked when a leash was put on her. We pulled up in the Petsmart parking lot. Max got out on his leash and I put Elphie in a Petsmart shopping cart that was out in the parking lot. I had just set her in there when she jumped out landing hard on her face on the pavement. Scared me so much but thankfully she was not hurt. Could have been so much worse. Poor little girl.

Once inside I carried her for as long as I could and then put her in a basket again, holding on to her and walking at the side, reassuring her all the time. As part of the class my wife Kate was walking Max around the store. I put Elphie down and was able to put the leash on her and let her follow her brother around. Was nice to see a little progress.

The dogs get along very well. They like to run and wrestle but Max never knows when to stop and nips and bites when Elphie has had enough. He outweighs her by about 10 pounds. Potty time often gets interrupted because of this play. Either Max disrupts her when she is needing to go or he forgets that he needs to go himself. Giving treats is also a bit of an issue. I got two Bully Sticks yesterday and each wants the one the other has. Always greener on the other side of the fence I guess.

We love Elphie so much and are so happy we got her. Seeing what happens when a pup stays at the breeder for too long. Just some missing skills there that we are going to have to catch up on.
