Eating

Does anyone have a doodle that doesn't eat consisently?  Some days/nights she will woof down her food(less than 1 min) and other meals she'll barely eat 1/2 of what we give her.  I feed her 1 C 2x a day.  Today I'll bet she hasn't eaten a total of 1.5 C

My 6 month old Nellie barely eats anything. I also feed her twice a day, leave the food down for only 1 hour, and she often barely touches it. I will say that I have started mixing in a couple of tablespoons of canned food, which has helped. Just like children, they will eat when they are hungry, and there is no need for concern unless your pup is not gaining weight.

I give Finnley a cup of food every morning.  She is a nibbler at 9 months old. Some days she eats it all, and other days she might nibble a few pieces, or not bother with it at all. If she HAS eaten it all, I will give her another cup and a half later in the afternoon. She really sets the precedence to how much I give her for the day. The most has been 3 cups, but that hasn't happened often. I pick up all of her food by 6:30 in the evening. That regulates her nightly poo  before bedtime. She has never been a fast or frenzied eater. She is a big girl weighing in at 70 pounds, so I'm glad she isn't a pig  about her food ! She'll let you know if she is hungry ! LOL

Wally eats that way and always has. Actually he ate worse as a puppy. He is almost 2 and healthy. I think he is just finicky sometimes.
