Fresh Deer Antlers

Does anyone know if I need to do something to the antlers before giving them to the pup? These were found in the woods, shed by the deer. I'm thinking maybe to boil them in case there is anything on them. Thanks.

Not really sure, but if you give your dog other cooked bones they splinter.  Not sure I'd boil them, but maybe just blanch them?  If that makes sense.  Just dip them in boiling water?  Also, not sure what they look like, but the ones online that you can buy are cut on both ends and the tines cut off so that they don't poke them in the eye, etc.  Good luck!  I plan on doing the same with Rigby when he gets older so he has the scent of sheds in his nose!   I want him to be a mighty shed hunter!
