Gastroplexy with neuter?

Hi folks,

Our vet and another vet friend just recommend that we schedule a gastroplexy with Lambeau's neuter. We are hesitant to add an unnecessary procedure but would like to do what is best overall for him. Has anyone else done this or been recommended to do it? If so, what helped make you decision?

My two cents - we lost our 6 year old labradoodle to bloat a few weeks ago.  He was deep chested.  I wish someone had reccomended we do a gastroplexy when he was young.  We just got a new puppy and will be doing this procedure when we get him neutered
