Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I'm pretty new to this site and being a doodle mommy so any suggestions are so very appreciated!

Every time I take my doodle, Kate in the car she throws up and drools terribly. I have tried so many methods and am running out of hope. I live about an hr away from my family so visiting is always a challenge however we try to go about once or twice a month. I have contemplated on leaving her at home but don't have the heart to make her sit in her cage all day while I'm out enjoying myself. Please help!

Good to know!

we have 1 year old and he has always had car ride sickies.  we travel EVERY weekend, so needed a solution.

what works for us.  no food in the morning if traveling by noon and no drugs.   if traveling in the evening, then no food for at least 4 hours before traveling plus we give a Benadryl dose. (check with vet for proper dosing.)  we tried other motion pills without success.

We also found that if the car is cold, he rides better. yes, we wear jackets and blankets to keep the car COLD. keep lowering the temp until they aren't panting and drooling.

I also try to make him tired before a long trip by doing some hard play. he lays on his favorite blankie, no toys.

lots of variables I know, and what we do may not work for you. I hope you can figure it out and then take your baby with you!!
