Just thought I'd do a quick post on my new favorite chew, the Himalayan dog chew! Winston loves it and is content chewing on it for hours, which is the only time we get a break! It's hard so it lasts a long time, it doesn't break off easily so there's no worry of blockage or anything like you would with rawhide, and it doesn't stink like a bully stick.

You can find them at most boutique pet shops for anywhere from $15-20 depending on size, but we got ours which is a large one for only $9 on Amazon! Do yourself a favor and get one for your pup if they need something to keep them busy and burn off some energy:)

Lily loves them too.  The only problem we've had is that if she drops one of the large ones on our hardwood floors it will break into smaller pieces...too small for me to give her safely.  The last one I bought started out about 8 inches long, she dropped it and it broke into 3 small pieces so I had to throw it all away.  HUGE waste of $.  So I make her keep them in the family room now which is the only carpeted room in our house.  Thankfully they're not messy at all so having it on carpet isn't an issue.

BEST advice! Thank you for sharing. I have a power chewer Emily (Golden Retriever) and Murfee (17 week) Doodle. I ordered the extra large for Emily and medium for Murf. Both are perfect. Emily stayed on that chew until I took it away due to blood on the chew. It was from chewing for an hour and her gums bled. She later got a hold of Murf's and she was able to chomp down and break off some pieces in 2 bites. Thankfully, I was right there in the room. 

This is by far the best chew I have ever found. It gives me some quiet time when needed and they love it. So a win-win all around. I think every Doodle owner should order these ASAP! You won't be disappointed. (I got mine at Amazon)

I think I'll go with the X-large next time too! They last quite a while but everyone in my family gives it to him so much because he likes it (and they get quiet time) he's managed to chew it about halfway down already! And no stomach issues so far which was the only other thing I worried about with it being cheese...lol

This is interesting ... these didn't last any time at all at our house and I never really thought of my girls as strong chewers.  I've bought them a couple times and I took them away after maybe 20 mins as they were probably 1/2 gone at that point and then gave them back another day at which point they disappears.  Only good side was both girls loved them!

This was one of our Tess's favorite chews too! Then one day she found a way to bite it and make it crack into small pieces. The pet store I was going to warned me that they usually figure out how to break them. Once this happens, there is no going back, and it is just too expensive to be almost gone in a couple hours. Kinda scary too! The first one lasted a long time, and then one day it was there, and then it was gone. Figured out why when we got the second one and she was just downing it. Just a heads up.

I picked one up yesterday at Petsmart and Chopper loves it! I had a hard time taking it away from him. He looked so sad when I put it away. He chewed on it for an hour and a half.

Thank you for the information.  We tried our first chew this weekend.  He LOVES it!!  He even carries it around with him, it is so cute!
