Hi everyone! I'm curious, my Aussiedoodle Lucy is super smart and picks up new commands very quickly. I though we were housetrained as mostly she will sit at the door seemingly waiting to be let out. Then she mozies her way onto the lawn to pee. Good right!? However today I caught her squatting on the rug where she had a little pee before I could stop her. She is only 4 1/2 months and I'm not really mad about the pee. Just frustrated since I thought we had this. How long are most of you finding the house training takes before no more accidents?

It took my Charley awhile before I could trust him on the carpet.
Our pup was houstrained fairly easily - we only had a total of 3 pee accidents and that was largely because we missed his signs.

I think our success was due to the fact that the breeder starred taking him outside to potty before we got him and also Angus was on a very consiStent eat and potty schedule. We never really gave him the opportunity to pee in the house because we'd anticipate the need and take him out if he had just played, napped, or drank water.

My thought is that maybe you wanna take a step back in training for more reminders - are you still using treats + praise for pottying outside? If not, you're gonna wanna resume that. From what I understand about pups and training...setbacks are totally normal and just require going back to more support. You'll get there!
I think perhaps I missed her cues as well as we had company over and I wasn't paying as much attention as l should have. To be honest Lucy has also had few accidents because we were always diligent about taking her out regularly. I think I have been feeling more confident in her however so have been putting my guard down and trusting her more. We haven't treat praised for potty in a while but typically do verbally praise her for going outside. Perhaps we have to up the excitement level for that again. We will keep working on it and get there I'm sure. Thanks for your input!
