Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hi,

I have an almost eight month old (this week) goldendoodle. I was told she'd be around 25-30 pounds full grown, but we are already past that. She's 33 pounds now. How much bigger do you think she'll get?

Just curious.

Thanks!

Sarah

She's a doll! I'm guessing she is pretty much full grown now. The smaller doodles reach mature size much sooner.

I found that while the breeder can guestimate, there are no guarantees on size and weight.  Remember, these are mix breeds and genetics are complex.  Usually breeders estimate weights of pups due to knowing what previous litters produced.

When we put down a deposit on a litter, the weights were suppose to be 16-28 pounds.  Our buddy weighs in at 35 pounds! He is the largest of his litter mates. (his litter did have a 16 pounder and others were avg.25 pounds)  The breeder has done about 4 cycles of those same parents and so far, ours is the largest of all litters.

Ours reached his weight around 6-8 months, so maybe you are there!! I love the pictures!

Loo is a mini Labradoodle. Her parents were 14 and 18lbs. She weighes in at 19lbs. At 9months she was at 16lbs. She didn't get any taller, she just filled out a little more after a year. Loo will be 3 in Dec. I agree with Missy's comments that breeders can only give you an educated guess on the size of these mini doodles! One thing for certain is that you have one cute doodle!

She looks like our Doodle!! So sweet.

Good insights for us, too. Thanks! Eager to see other replies. Our Archie is at 29 pounds at 8 months, and the breeder said he'd be between 25-35 I hope he's done growing. He's a great manageable size right now. He's getting groomed as we speak, so he may come back about 5 lbs lighter. He was looking like a sweet old sheepdog when I took him in. Love that look, but hard to maintain.

Amy,
Be sure to post pictures of Archie and let us know how the grooming went.

Thanks ladies!

Olive is my first doodle and I know it's a guessing game with these mixed breeds.  Her weight was never guaranteed and I'm not upset or disappointed that she's going to be a bigger girl.   I love her no matter what.

We met a 8 month old Goldendoodle the other day at the dog park and he already weighed over 60 pounds and they thought he'd get closer to 80# full grown so it just made me curious of how much more weight she would gain.

She's adorable!! My AL is 6.5 mos. and 20 lbs. I was told she'd be 30-35 lbs. I had always assumed she would be full-grown at a year, but do you think she can max out earlier than that?

Here she is.  Adorable.  My prediction is that she might grow just a bit for another month or so.

Thanks!
