Licking feet after walk

We just came in from a walk and before we were even back to the house Finn was stopping and licking his feet & legs like crazy. Mainly his right front foot so I rinsed it with the hose before we came in but that didn't help so we went back out and I gave him a full bath. I'm thinking he walked thru some pesticide that was maybe burning or itching. Any one else have any similar experience?

My Laila licks her feet too, but I usually wipe her feet after a potty break and that's usually every time she goes out. So I thought it was the baby wipes, but this sounds more than that. Did the bath help? Maybe a shampoo with oatmeal, I've heard it recommended for itchy skin?? Sorry couldnt be more helpful..

Did Finn feel better after the bath?  Grass allergy?  Or was he trying to get clean?  My brother's boarder collie can start all muddy and have  himself clean in no time flat (yuck)

Yes, the bath helped and it was oatmeal shampoo. I'm just going to be avoiding that area for future walks.
