Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Monty came to live with us in Portland last Saturday. He's a ten week old F1b goldendoodle. I haven't had a puppy since I was a kid, and my wife only ever had farm dogs, but he's been great. He's already sitting, and toilet training has been accident-free so far. He came from the country so he still needs to get used to big city noise, but we'll get there. He must be the sweetest dog I've ever met.
What I can't understand is the people on the Internet who hate these guys so much. I am amazed when I read forums and see people assuming that doodle breeders are irresponsible and doodle owners are idiots. Do you ever get used to it?

I completely ignore those negative comments. I give them about as much time as I give people who claim to not like cats. They just have never had a wonderful cat so they make assumptions about them. And they just have never had a wonderful doodle, so they make assumptions about them. And I'm with Helga.....as soon as people meet my puppies, they fall in love with them! I took them in for shots yesterday and Kona (the Double Doodle) literally reached up and put his arms around the techs neck to hug her, and then jumped into her arms to be held like a happy baby. The vet came back in later to warn me that the techs were in the back plotting to take Kona home with them. They had never seen a Double Doodle before and rarely have even seen a doodle. To know them is to love them! That's all it takes. In the meantime, just completely ignore the negative writeups! I have managed to live a lifetime without knowing anything about professional football or basketball just by completely ignoring it and turning the radio or TV channel when they come on. That's about how I treat any anti-doodle people. I don't hear or read a word they say and I go on with my day happy and in love with my doodle.
A double doodle is a goldendoodle crossed with a labradoodle. Ideally they are 25% Golden, 25% Lab, and 50% Poodle.
