Mossy is 7 months old and I am looking for new ideas to keep her entertained during the times when we can't be actively playing with her. She is a chewer so she goes through her toys so fast! She doesn't really care for rubber ones. Only likes the cloth ones she rip the stuffing out of. My problem: The good ones are expensive! The cheap ones she ruins in an hour. The expensive ones take her about a week. Any ideas on toys we can make for her to keep her entertained? We are spending more on her toys than our children haha!! Any thoughts or things that have worked for you?

Thanks!

What about the toys that are brain teasers? i.e putting treats inside and they have to work at it to get the treats out? or hide her favourite toy around the house and have her "find it" ... Not sure if this would help but it's worth a try

Bully sticks? Marrow bones? A treadmill? Also, definitely rotate the toys to reduce boredom. I will be following this post! Good luck...

I've put wet dog food in the kong and frozen it, and that keeps George busy for quite a while...it can be done with peanut butter and kibble also...so you can use his daily food ration and not all treats..(though I do sometimes add treats). He doesn't like rubber toys on their own, add a couple swipes of peanut butter, and bam, he loved it.  Bully sticks and cow ears help with the chewing urge, and it's satisfactory because he gets to "rip" them.

You can use old towels or pieces of fabric and put knots in them and/or cut up the ends. You can also wet them and freeze, too.

I highly recommend NOT using old towels or old anything! Puppies don't know the difference between old towels ( clothes, shoes, fabric etc) and your newer usable items. Had a puppy owner of mine, who couldn't figure out why their puppy kept stealing pairs of jeans from the kids bedrooms. Come to find out, she was using knotted jean pant legs as toys for the dog. The pup didn't the difference!
I have 2 pups just a little older, one chews everything In sight so have had to be very careful, the best 'chews' I've found are the split elk antlers, they keep them entertained for quite a while and seems to keep my chewer from going for the stuff he shouldn't have..lol
