I need to switch my dogfood away from anything chicken or turkey based. Does anyone have any recs for something lamb or fish based?

I use Wellness, which has a grain free option that is ocean based (Whitefish, Herring Meal, Salmon Meal & Menhaden Fish Meal). They also have a simple version for dogs with allergies that is lamb & rice or salmon & rice based.

Another option, used by my neighbor, is Taste of the Wild. It is grain free and has a pacific stream option (Salmon & Ocean Fish Meal).

I hope that helps.

Hi!  Acana Ranchlands is beef and lamb-based, I believe and Pacifica is fish-based.

I use TOTW Lamb recipe.  Works well for my dog.

We had to switch our doodle, Rudy, to a non-chicken-based puppy formula because our vet didn't want us on an "all stages" formula. We ended up with California Naturals Lamb Meal and Rice Puppy Food. It's a bit hard to find but our local pet store orders it for me. Rudy's doing really well with it. We also use Cloud Star lamb flavor Buddy Biscuits as soft training treats and the CA Natural Lamb Bars as hard, cookie-type treats. The Natural Balance lamb log is really rich, but doled out in tiny doses it's the big ticket treat that will get Rudy to do almost anything ;-)

Good luck with your search. Having been through food issues ourselves I totally sympathize!

Have you visited our Food Group on DK?  They have a nice list of recommended foods to peruse.  You don't have to be a member of the group to read the recommended list.
