Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that Mindy’s once perfect, adorable, shiny black nose has started turning brown, and it’s getting lighter and lighter on the tip. Mindy’s almost a year and a half old, so I don’t know if this is something that commonly happens in younger dogs, or what. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Well, she's just beautiful either way!  She sort of has a nose wardrobe!  :-)

Okay, so that's the same age as Mindy. It'll be really interesting to see what happens for both of them come summer. Keep me posted! :)

I just love all these pictures of these beautiful dogs, and their colorful noses! :-)

I used to worry about this with my lab, who had a beautiful black nose.  I read some time ago, that some plastic water bowls can affect the pigment on a dog's nose.  I can't remember where I read this -- it was years ago, but at the time I found several articles on it.  It was mentioned that ceramic, glass, or metal bowls were best for the nose!

Luna's water bowls are both stainless steel so I don't think that has anything to do with it for her... I did read somewhere (maybe in the food group?) though that kelp supplements can help prevent snow nose.

I think we have had a couple of discussions here about noses fading... I seem to remember people mentioning lack of sunlight having to do with the fade.  I will try and find it and repost.  Either way, what adorable noses on these doodles!

I just did a search and found this from a while back.  There are also links to other discussions as well here....
