To me it is a claiming territory issue, but I'm not trained in dog behavior. When Ned was a puppy, he did this once when we were in our RV. He peed where my mom and HER dog were going to sleep. Hmmmm. We had a cat who peed on my husband's side of the bed, never mine. Can you guess the owner of the cat pre-marriage????
If this is the only place the puppy pees, I simply would not place it on the bed until much further down the road.
Sounds like marking to me because of the scent of the other dog. Might try getting the scent of the other dog off your bed. Then put him back up on the bed and see if he marks it again. I said he (but is puppy a boy or girl). My neighbors male dog (12 yrs) still marks in my house when he comes over. Never much pee just a little squirt. None of my male dogs are house markers. It is a territorial behavior.
Guess you'll have to just keep him off the bed. Until he can jump on by himself. I have a male doodle and he only had 3 accidents in the house in the first week then never again and he will be 1 on Jan 6th. He will pee after my neighbors dog pees but doesn't mark if the neighbors dog marks with a little squirt. I clean it up right away and spray with Eliminate. That works really well to get the smell out. That behavior is territory marking. Might keep both dogs off the bed until the pup learns to accept the older dog.
