Does he chew it into balls and eat it ? Violet used ot do that to her front legs wile she would lay down

Sounds like a red flag to me.  I'd take him to the vet.  Could be either hot spots or anxiety.

Agreeing with Deb here - I'd ask your vet to have a look just in case he has something going on there.

Declan has anxiety issues so he does like Violet and eats the hair on his front legs - that's one reason I keep him short - but dogs will chew and pull at their hair if they itch or there is pain in the area they're fussing at, so best to check it out and make sure.

Hi Gail, Kosar seems to only do it when he is hyper. He pulls his hair from his tail more than anything. Anyway, he is a crazy pups but I love him so much!! I posted a recent pic! Post one of Oliver!
