Anyone switched to a high quality/premium food at a young age?  If so, which one did you choose and how did the transition go?

I think we have a picky eater on our hands.

I am in the process of switching Doc (7 weeks). He was sent home on puppy chow. I just can't feed him that! But, I don't want to hurt his tummy either so I will gradually mix the good food into the bad over the next week or so. I am going to ask the "food group" now if there are specific guidelines to go by.

I found this site http://www.dogfoodadvisor.com/best-dog-foods/best-puppy-foods/best-... with lists, reviews, and guide to choosing the best food for your dog. You can also sign up there for emails on any recalls.

Thank

Join the Food Group on DK. There you will find a million posts for this same question :), an updated list to the very best foods out there is on the Food Group's main page ( updated 2012).
No need to go anywhere else. You've got the very best right here.
My recommendation- Fromm's Puppy. Good Luck

At the advice of Hurley's trainer we switched to Wellness Large Breed Puppy.  We introduced it gradually by using a 1/4 cup addition to his 1 1/2 cup of food and after a week (because it went well) we changed that to 1/2 cup, etc.

Thank you all! I will join the food group.

In the meantime, the vet has put us on some awful wet bland food just to get her GI system back in shape & to help her gain some weight... the stuff looked/smelled nasty but she LOVED it!  Well, I'm happy that she's at least eating for today and I'll join the food group to find what I hope is our longer term puppy food.

Thanks!
