My 13 wk old puppy had his second set of shots last week. This morning I noticed a rather sizeable lump on his right side where he received the injection. It doesn't seem to bother him. I read that sometimes this happens when puppies are vaccinated. Has this happened to any one else? Does the lump eventually go away? Thanks

Oh no! i am looking at this just minutes before I walk out the door to take Bennie to get his shots!  I hope all is well with your puppy.  I have never had a dog with vaccination issues in the past nor heard of any, so lets cross our fingers!

Thank you...good luck to Bennie today on his shots..he is so cute!!! I'm hoping the lump goes away soon.

Yes and probably.... We noticed a small bump on Mya after her last set of shots, and haven't noticed it since then. Unfortunately, I am 10 - 15 miles from her at this writing, so I can't give her a going over and you an official yes.

Glad to know it happened to someone else as well....it really freaked me out this morning when i felt it. Hopefully it begins to go away soon

Yes, rabies vaccines can cause this. If memory serves me correctly, rabies vaccines are always done on the right side too. So, if your dog rec'd a rabies vax in the last set of shots, I'd guess it is from that.

My dogs have had this reaction to the rabies vax in the past. It disappears in time (a month or so).

He didn't receive the rabies vac this time...he will be getting it in two weeks with another round of boosters.
