Hello everyone,

Maizey has been losing teeth left and right - at first I was freaked out but the internet, this site and my vet have allayed those fears.  The front ones were fine but she's now losing the bigger ones in the back, complete with a little bit of blood.  Instead of swallowing them, she spits them out... (ick)  Anyways, I've tried frozen wash clothes (not interested) and just wet washcloths but she's also just not excited by them.  She's no longer interested in bully sticks or hard chew things - I'm hypothesizing because her gums hurt and she doesn't have enough teeth to get into them.  But I'm wondering if anyone has other remedies they've discovered.  I've tried ice cubes which she likes for a little while (but sooo messy!).  She likes the soft treats, but I'm trying hard not to over-treat.  She has some of those gummy like softer nylabone toys which she'll chew on for a few minutes, but is there anything out there that might keep her interested for longer than a few minutes and make her gums / teeth feel better (other than belly rubs and hugs which she's getting plenty of)?  She also has the usual assortment of soft squeaky toys/rope toys.  I'm hoping there's something else I just haven't thought of - particularly since lately she's discovered the couch and the chair cushions...

Thanks in advance!

Finn always gives me that "hey you going to eat the rest of that" look when I was eating an apple so I tried giving him one (he is also losing his baby teeth) and he seemed to love it.  Not sure he liked the flavor as much as the texture.

Hopefully you are almost through this phase.  I freaked out with my pup too because they were falling out left and right and there was usually blood involved.  I thought he would go weeks having to gum food but the big boy teeth came in very quickly!

When Sadie was teething I used to put plain nonfat yogurt in a Kong and stick it in the freezer for a while. This seemed to occupy her and soothed her gums at the same time.

My Pup will be 6 months old on Sunday and I have yet to see a missing tooth on the ground or him act weird. What is the age they start falling out? My mom has his brother and she noticed one on the rg with a little blood a few weeks back but that was about it. Are you supposed to do something for them even if they do not seem bothered?
