We live in San Diego...to me, this is a tad on the high side.
First, a female's Spay is going to cost more than a male's neuter. It is a more involved procedure
But, I only pd a total of $440 for a puppy plan that included the spay, unlimited Vet visits, heartworm testing twice a yr., 2 fecals, and all of her Vaccinations, including Bordetella. AND her microchip.
At the same time, I would not search out the "cheapest" way either...they have a way of cutting corners and it is not always good.
I agree. I would want a vet who is up to date on the different types of procedures. For example, a spay can be done by laproscope, or the traditional method. I am also in the same situation, I think my vet is charging too much..My question is.. do I really want to price around and have the surgery done by a vet who is a complete stranger to me and my dog?
