I ordered this bowl and it will be here on Monday. Hopefully my washing machine won't break down from washing so many mop-up towels before it arrives! When he's not moaning in ecstasy over his chewy things, Leo is one of many who participate in water bowl mania, jumping in his bowl and digging out all of the offensive water and dumping it on my hardwood floor. (And then I'm the one doing the growling!) Anyway, I found this bowl online....I think it was developed by the German Shepherd breeder who has the website. It looks like it is going to be just the ticket. There's a short video that explains how it works. I should wait until it gets here to post this so I can tell you how great it works (oh please please please!!) but I couldn't wait to tell someone. (Are any of the rest of you puppy owners having this issue? You know, like new parents where you even think your kid's bathroom habits are interesting?) Anyway, the bowl should be here on Monday. I have been saying since the day after Leo arrived that all I need in life is for someone to make a water bowl that he can't splash with....did I get my wish? I'll let you know for sure on Monday!!

Yay! The zoomies actually will come to an end??? They are cute at the beginning, but Leo gets so wild that I often have to tuck him into his crate and tell him good night. Then he barks at me - the crate is in the common area of our house, so I end up sending myself to my room so that he will go to sleep! (After half an hour or so, I can usually come back out!)
Yep she used to have them twice a day. She would run into this tall vase I have (like a floor vase). Good thing it was heavy and well-made. That probably should have been broken into a million pieces!
Last night was such a surprise my husband and I just sat their laughing hysterically, even egging her on. Probably not the right thing to do, but we couldn't help it. Taquito (our chihuahua) was on the other couch just watching her - his head was going back and forth, back and forth. Husband said it was like he was watching a tennis match! Anyway, that lasted about 3 minutes and then she was out for the night! So funny. It really does get a lot easier.
Only three minutes? Oh if only. Leo will easily zoom for at least 30 minutes. But then he has our Shih Tzu egging him on and zooming righ along beside him! Or behind him. It's pretty funny to see a little Shih Tzu chasing what is becoming a very big Doodle!
She has never done it longer than probably 5 minutes. I cannot imagine 30! She will do it outside for 20 minutes, but only with my parent's cairn terrier chasing her. Also Peri is only 20 pounds so maybe that is why it is "cute". hehehe.
Size matters! Leo is 30 pounds - and only halfway to full grown!
