Traveling with MGD puppy on plane?

Has anyone traveled with their 4 1/2 month Mini Goldendoodle puppy in cabin on a domestic flight? And what do MGD usually weight around 4-5 months? Thanks!!

I have not , but on the weight of a mini so many things go into that they are a mix breed . My mini is about 15 pounds at 5 months but she is a f1b crossed with mini golden momma and a mini poodle daddy . I was told she would weigh about 25 grown . Hope your trip goes well.

We have flown round-trip across the country twice with our mini Labradoodle.  She's 13 months now and weighs ~20 pounds (full grown).  She rides in the large Original sherpa bag which is snug but she is really cozy and happy in it.  We give her a benadryl so she will snooze through the trip.  The first takeoff freaked her out a little bit, but other than that she has been an easy traveler.

I'm glad to hear this, thought my flying days were over but my MGD weighs 21 lbs. so he can fly in the cabin with us? Not sure what a Sherpa bag is but if I want to fly somewhere I'll be finding one!

Hi, right now our MGD is only 10lbs at 15 weeks.  We will be traveling home for Christmas.  At that point, Kosar will be 21 weeks and roughly 14-15 lbs(?). We have already reserved a spot for him in the cabin with us on a Delta flight (both ways).  When reserving pet spot on airlines its first come, first serve.  So I would call your airlines sooner than later.  Plus, all airlines are different with their pet policy.  I would do research before traveling with him. 

 

As far as traveling carriers.  Sherpa is a brand of traveling carrier.  I went with Sturdibag brand based on reviews.  Right now we are in the process of getting Kosar use to the bag and being carried in it.  So again, I would get your bag early to train.

I know this is an old post but I am curious as to how your travel went with the sturdi bag ? I'm planning on traveling with my MGD Lulu in a month and I just purchased the Large Sturdi bag. She is currently 13lbs and about 22.5 weeks (just over 5 months).
