Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello everyone!  I am a new doodle owner of 11 week old Sadie the labradoodle.  Our breeder got her first round of vaccinations done at 8 weeks (distemper, hepatitis (cav), parainfluenza and parvovirus) and we now are looking for a vet to get her 12 weeks shots done in about a week.  I have been looking into a few different vets in my area and are getting some conflicting answers about what shots we need to get done next and some saying there are 3 rounds that need done, others are saying just 2.  Can anyone provide me any information based on what is recommended for a female labradoodle (she has also already been spayed by the breeder at 9 weeks old) as I am getting a little confused and overwhelmed on what she needs.  Thank you very much!! :)

I think the minimum number of rounds of vaccines is 3 with the first at 8 to 10 weeks and then every 3- 4 weeks. The different answers from different vets is probably because some of the vets are not counting the vaccines your breeder gave the pup. Many vets feel they can not trust the breeders to properly store the vaccines. The chance the vaccine was compromised is a problem to them. If your breeder had the vaccines given by a vet try to get a receipt or some proof to give to the vet you chose. My pup had his first of shots when I got him, but the breeder had it done by a vet. They gave me a copy of the paper work to give to my vet. He really appreciated it and explained why that was important.
