We do not get to pick her up until 11:30 am next Saturday. We are so excited. She is going to be called Rosie. We do not have another dog. We had to have our Lily(shar-pei) put down in January. She was our second Shar-pei and even though they were fantastic dogs we had nothing but health problems with them and we just couldn't do it again. Lily was only 2.5 years old our Shar-pei before that was only 6. I need a dog with longevity!! I am hoping I get that with Rosie! She isn't a mini she is going to be a standard although both her mom and dad are not very large. So I would guess she is going to be medium size.
While I would love to have 2 puppies at the same time I am not sure I can do that. I do work full time but I work out of the home so that does leave me with some luxuries of being able to spend a lot of time with the dogs. Plus my kids are getting older. My soon to be 11 year old can't wait to teach her tricks and just play with her. Her goal is to have her catching a frisbee. I told her that would take a lot of time and practice. She is game though. :) And the other two just want someone to cuddle with. I am sure Rosie will get lots of love and all of our neighbors have dogs so there will be lots of playmates(8 other dogs) and 25 kids in our little group. So there will be a lot of fun for her to have.
Ok I am done rambling. Can you tell I am excited? When we get new pictures I will post them. The breeder did tell me that she had them out on a leash on Monday and she did fantastic. So that is good.
oh my thats is just about the time it took for us to get our first doodle after our retriever passed away at 15+ years. We worried it was a rebound choice and it was partly but its been wonderful times with them both already and many more years to come. I always loved the Shar-pei and always wanted one.
We are done now with getting puppies. Hope OUR health keeps up with them. lol
