What is your puppy afraid of?

Had the funniest experience with Pippin the other day.  I wanted to purchase a raincoat for him (needed when you live on the wetcoast of Canada, cuz it really helps cut down the drying time in the am when I'm trying to get out the door for work after our am walk!!).  Anyway, I had to take Pippin's measurements (neck, chest width and girth, and length from shoulder blades to tail root).  No problem, right?  Wrong!!  Pippin took one look at my cloth tape measure and fled!  I was holding it in my hands across the room and he fled!  Here I was thinking that measuring Kylie (maltese and very nervous) was going to be the challenge, but she absolutely loved the attention.  Pippin, our confident, not afraid of anything, was a huge chicken!  Fortunately, we had lots of turkey in the frig (Canadian thanksgiving weekend), and a big prize as far as goofball Pip is concerned, so after lots or attempts, I finally got the measurements.  So, I was wondering if anyone else had a funny, what is your puppy afraid of?? story to share?

Yesterday while walking we past a yard that had decorated for halloween and they had tombstones on the lawn. One had a skull engraved with florescent green eyes and Murphy freaked out. She scooted past it as fast as she could, ears back, tail tucked. Poor thing!

Sophie is afraid of random things that she's not used to seeing out on the street. Like if there is a pilon on the road, or someone has cut down a bunch of tree branches and piled them up, she completely freaks out. Once there was this construction sign in the shape of a man holding a flag. She went berserk! The other day, our very friendly neighbour was wearing her witch hat on halloween and Sophie was terrified of her. Balloons also freak her out.

Nothing frightens Winston. He is a rock.

Bruin is afraid of big dogs and the vacuum cleaner

Sadie also is not a big fan of the vacuum cleaner--when I first used it after getting her she would jump up on me to try and make it stop; now she just lies on the bed looking at me reproachfully until I'm done.

But she absolutely LOVES big dogs--runs up to them at the park, licks their faces, pees a little. Great Danes are her favorite, but she also loves all greyhounds.

Sophie loves the vacuum cleaner. She follows me around and tries to investigate the whole process. She's afraid of a lot of other stuff though, like flashing lights and pilons.

Marabelle is afraid of my sons toy gun it's so weird, it was laying on the floor and it's bright orange and looks like something from outer space.she barks at it and walks a huge circle to get away from it. Rhonda
