I know he's teething so I'm trying to be sympathetic. He has access to numerous toys of all shapes sizes and textures but he still prefers to chew on us or our clothes! We give him ice when we notice his mouth is hurting him especially bad and we also have puppy chew rings, however I've read the chew rings aren't good for him everyday. I will seriously try anything to help him through this stage!

His expression in your picture is priceless.  This phase too shall pass, but not without damage to your skin and clothes!

We would soak small washcloths in cold water than put them in the freezer...Once frozen we would give them to Lexee to chew....she was always supervised and loved gnawing on it and getting some water due to the melting....Saved us money, cooled her down and also helped with the teething...
had about 3-4 facecloths in the freezer..so they were always ready...
I have TONS of chew toys this time for Olive. We keep rotating through them, to keep her interested. With our last puppy, the bully sticks seemed to give him loose BM so I'm avoiding them as able (though maybe it was just the brand/that puppy - they were Trader Joes).
We are always encouraging Olive on the chew toys now (instead of on us ;) She especially likes one shaped like a duck, and a freezer ice bone. I'd encourage anything that will help loosen those wiggly little puppy teeth and help attrition.
** It also really helps to drain her energy with free exercise outside and with mind games. I have a ball from which she has to figure out how to roll in order to get her lunch kibble. I think these activities plus Doggy Dan's 5 Golden Rules of Leadership greatly reduce their trying to nibble on you. Good luck!

Hi there...

First off...your puppy is adorable!!!  What a lot of people said is very good advice.  I'm going to tell you a few things that are mainly related to discouraging the puppy to bite you.  What I found that worked w/our now 5 month old labradoodle are (2) things.  And they worked very quickly and seemed to stick in her brain permanently.

When the puppy bites at your hand/body - yelp and pretend to cry and make your body part limp that she was biting.  It immediately stopped Coco in her tracks and she would start to lick us.  Every time she would do it - we would respond the same way and w/in I'd say...2-3 days...no more chomping down on us.

The next thing for clothes and furniture, etc. is the Apple Bitter stuff.  It works wonderfully as well.  It is not cheap but well worth purchasing a few bottles.  I found that Coco had a tendency to want to chew on the same things, i.e. her $100 custom made monogrammed bed...UGH!!!... so I sprayed all the edges of it a few times when she went to chew and ...guess what....she doesn't chew it anymore.

Those are my two suggestions outside of the other stuff...lots of good chew toys, REDIRECTION EVERY TIME SHE CHEWS, LOTS of PRAISE when she stops (no matter how aggravated you are w/her for doing it in the first place).

It will all work out!!!!
