Do you think our boy may be on his way to a wavy doodle coat

I am obsessing over what kind of coat our little Zumi may end up with. He is our first doodle and we had an hour to decide.. I know he isn't going to be really curly but do you think he will end up with a good, wavy doodle coat? Do his facial furnishings look like they will develop into a "typical" doodle face or do you think he will look more like a poodle or a golden? He is nine weeks old. I got pictures of him sleeping to show his coat from all sides.No matter what, we are in love with him already.

He’s adorable! It looks to me like he’ll be very doodly! He is already and they don’t get less doodly.

Adorable. I agree, he already looks like a doodle.  Has the start of the facial furnishings and wavy ears.

He most definitely will look doodl-ish and he might get curlier than you think.  He is adorable. He’s a mini or smaller?

Thank you all so much for replying. He is supposed to be a mini. They said he would get to be 15-20 pounds. The father is 12 pounds and the mother is 40 pounds. He weighed 3.6 pounds at his weigh-in this week. He is growing fast! He is so smart and sweet. Now if he would just learn not to bite all the time! I am going to give him his first bath this afternoon. That should be interesting.

I especially love the picture with his feet in the air!!  Too adorable.  It almost makes me want another puppy - I said ALMOST!  ha!  I remember the biting.

Yes, he loves his naps. He plays hard and then he sleeps hard. It gives me hope that you talk about the biting as a memory.

Yes- it looks like he will doodle! He reminds me sooooo much of my redhead Winnie at that age. She was darker in color, but similar coat type...

Oh yes yours is very "doodley"! I even think yours will be slightly curly. The coat he has now is just his puppy coat. Around 4-5 months, look at the root of his hair (especially around his chest) and see if you see little crinkles. If you do, then he will have a curly coat. He looks similar to my doodle Charlie at that age, and he's got a loose curl, but his face and tail are straight.
