Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Hi,
This is our Zoe, who is an F1b Goldendoodle. Despite being F1b (so 75% poodle) the entire litter was born with straight coats! But already in the 2 week pictures one could see waves. I'm hoping this means she'll get more of the shaggy / teddybear coat. At 6 weeks she had the upside down V, which I understand means she's likely to get a mustache. I'm already seeing this growing out, plus a beard. Most of her coat is soft like a Golden pup, but more curly. The top of her back is a lot stiffer and has more curls. Her black spots are really, really soft. I know in the pics she looks like she's white with black, but she also has a lot of tan in her spots. As you can see, she's getting more and more of the ticks / smaller spots.
She was 14 lbs at 14 weeks so the vet is guessing she'll be 35 lbs +/-
Would love input on how you think her coat would look like when she grows up. Think her ticks will get so many it covers her face? Think the black will remain black or go lighter? Will her coat be shaggy?Especially interested in input on how the spots will look if she becomes shaggy. Also still trying to get my head around what 35 lbs means - see lots of pics of 35 lb doodles, but if
not next to a person or some "standard" breed it's difficult to get the proportions.
Zoe at 4 weeks:
11 weeks (love the heart!):
15 weeks (wet and scruffy - but shows how her face is developing)

Firsty, Zoe is such, a cutie!! Lovely colouring <3
Although Brontë is a Black F1b Labradoodle, her coat texture seems quite similar to Zoe's.
The first two photos are Brontë at 12 weeks roughly, the final one is a recent photo of Brontë, now 1 year old...I don't know how much this will help you, but it might be interesting :)

Her Black might 'melt' into the white more, so they won't be as defined...Brontë was born jet black but from 5 months or so she's got all this white throughout her coat, and she's been getting more and more.
As for size, Brontë is 23" tall (58cm) and 23kg (50lbs), she's quite dinky compared to other standard doodles, we find generally Goldendoodles are much bigger!

shes adorable!
Thanks. Yes, we love her. And she has all these quirky traits that just fits her quirky looks so very much.
Stanlee is Brontë's older brother with a manly beard and moustache.....or so we wish! Stan had the same soft coat as a pup but it slowly turned a bit more coarse especially at his whithers and muzzle. He had a much thicker coat about four months ago but since he "blew" it, it hasn't come back as thick and wavy. He too has gotten more and more white hairs down his back and he has these "poofs" on his ankles that look REALLY silly. I've been trying to get good pictures lately but he does NOT cooperate during photo shoots. The fun thing about our dogs? "Your guess is as good as mine" works for pretty much each of our puppies.
Amy and Marnie,
Thanks ever so much for posting the pictures. Love the mustaches and beards - and the straighter, more straggly coats. Your dogs look exactly like I hope Zoe will do! I know only time will tell, but this helps me imagine what she may look like. I'm nigh on certain she won't end up with the very voluminous coat that a lot of Goldendoodles have (especially when F1b), so your pics are a great alternative reference point.
any pictures of her parents. it looks like her muzzle skin color is dark and the black it going to go brown or maybe a brown brindle. From looking at so many doodles while searching for our sophie I want to say the final coat is going to be thin and wispy but should have a full beard and moustache. cant tell about the curl though. it is only a guess as doodles love to keep us on our toes about color and coat type. but i do love guessing about what they will look like. a cutie no matter the final look though.
She is just adorable. I am in love with her color. One of my dogs is a Springer Spaniel and your Zoe's coloring reminds me of my Gordie. Where does her unusual coloring come from?
Yes, she actually does have a lot of the Springer color. Especially the bits that one cannot see in the picture - from front to back her ears go from black to brown to light tan. And several of her ticks are grey. Her spots have black, brown, tan and grey in them.
The color / markings come from her mom - see above.
