The strange stripe xxxx

Hi all this is my first post ever plz bear with me Finn is nearly 5months old and has this stripe of course hair running down his back is that his adult fur coming through and any ideas on what coat he will have he is an F1 thank you all Linda x

This shows Yogi's darker coat. It started as a dark spot at his tail, then moved up to his neck, then down the sides. He just turned one. I do think this is the adult coat.

You can see in this pic of our Sophie where her curls started in the same place.  We had we wondering if she was going to doodle out and this is exactly where it started.  It is just the beginning of the coat change.  Yes some coats do change in color during this time.

There have been many people post on DK about this dark stripe so it is pretty common.

Here's another pic of Yogi earlier in the change. As you can see it has not gone very far up his back yet

Ned got a darker stripe down his back with slowly faded and blends in with the rest of his apricot coat which has also faded.

Both of our F1 doodles have a stripe down the center of their backs. They are both dark chocolate and have courser silver striped fur down their backs.
