We're going out of the country for 2 weeks and have been stressed about finding good dog sitters for our doodle. Then I thought it might be nice for there to be a local network of people from doodlekisses how might be interested in sitters for our babies? Would love to exchange as help is needed. Anyone interested?

I have been interested in doing this for a long time.  However it is key that they doggies know each other and can get along.  The conditions of the "exchange" need to be clearly defined.  Will the doggies be attended all day or do the caregivers work?  We have doodle exchanged in the past but with doggies that we know well.  Would certainly be willing to be on a list of potential doodle sitting exchangers.

i am totally happy to travel and i am totally happy to meet in advance! i do agree that it works best when the dogs already know each other, or at the very least have met before while the humans are around to give the signal that we're ok! i'd love to meet up and see if we're a fit.

I'm interested as well, we're going to Seattle for 4 days next week and I'm having a hard time trying to find a person /boarding facility that I can trust with Jagger, he's a good doodle but only 10 months and we've never left him before. I might be overprotective so this is going to be a good experience. Yours sounds like a good idea. However we're not in the City, we're  in the Oakland hills

i am totally happy to travel happy to meet in advance! i completely understand what it's like to leave your puppy. i literally teared when we first left joey. and friends without dogs think i'm completely bat s*** crazy for worrying so much about her. your doodle is a puppy and is going through impression phase so i totally understand the importance of finding good care. i am open to meeting up with our pups to see if it's a fit and if so, would gladly watch yours.

Joey is adorable! Jagger is 65lb and loves to play, i dont know if he'd be too much for Joey, we can still try to meet some time and see what happens, for our sept 5th trip could be too rushed, we're going backpacking this weekend and be back on Monday. I have an appt tonight with a girl that could dog sit in our place, we'll see how it goes, i found her on rover.com. Let's stay in touch, my name is Cathya and we've moved to the Bay area last december, we still relatively new. We love it here.

Cheers,

hi cathya, nice to meet you. i'm esther. let's definitely keep in touch and try to meet up at some point or another so that we have ample time to arrange something for our travels! we actually just moved to sf from nyc last november. joey definitely prefers it here. have a blast on your trip. also, please let me know how it goes with the woman you found on rover. i may use her as well if you have a good experience with her.

that girl stood me up today, said something came up... i dont see it happening, what if she doesnt have time for Jagger? I'll let you know what i end up doing =)

Hi Joey,

I have been going to Play Dog Play in Petaluma since I was 8 months old. My mommy was very cautious and researched all the doggie daycare/ boarding facilities here in the city and the North Bay. She wanted me to be humans who loved me as much as her. AND she wanted to make sure that there were other good dogs around for me to play and run with. Even though we live in SF, she drives me up to Petaluma. John and Molly are awesome and will evaluate you before being allowed in the yard. I love going and have stayed there for over a week too. They have options for you to snooze in a bed with someone every night, or if you are used to sleeping in a crate, they have a really cool room with cozy cubbies.

We have moved around a lot and so I have been able to check out other boarding/ daycare facilities in Las Vegas, NV and Boulder, CO. Not one of them has even come close to Play Dog Play.

Send my mommy a private message if you want more information or if you want to talk to her on the phone.

I know you would love romping w me at Play Dog Play -- there's loads of other doodles there too!

Anyone interested in a holiday dog swap? Ill be in sf for thanksgiving but am planning to travel over Christmas and need someone to watch Barney. He's 50lbs, 9 months old. Would probably do better with a younger dog who still enjoys puppy play.

Hi Kristen, i sent you an email.
