to make your man OR your dog crazzzzy about you!
My foster boy, Kobe, went home with his forever family today, and already Jack is back to his usual hard-to-get self. But, boy, I have never gotten as many kisses or as much attention as I did the last 12 days while Kobe was here. Jack was even sleeping up against me instead of in his usual spot on the floor. So, girls, it just goes to prove the old theory...bring another guy into the picture and you'll be showered with attention...from your man OR your doodle!
Thanks! Here's the e-mail I received Tuesday a.m. from Kobe's new mom; I'll let it speak for itself.
Hi Karen,
Kobe had just the greatest night – he loves the house and our big yard (he’s searched every square inch), and he’s been a cuddly guy with everyone in the family. He jumped right into his crate last night, and did so well all night long. Of course, this morning, he walked into the bathroom with my son’s shoe in his mouth, but he handed it right over. Lizzie has already said that Kobe’s her favorite dog ever (aah, the fickle loyalty of a 5-year-old girl). I’m so happy that we have a great dog for her to love – she has really missed Callie, and just loves having an affectionate dog to hug.
He seems like he will be just fine to train as well – he’s so eager to please.
All is well so far. I’ll keep you updated, but wanted to let you know that Kobe appears to be very happy with his new home!
THIS IS ME (Karen) AGAIN: They are the loveliest family...work-at-home dad, mom, 5-yr old girl & 3-yr-old boy, full time nanny for the kids, big house & huge completely fenced yard. They lost their adopted GD recently after having her only 8 mos, and were devastated. Don't you just love happy endings?
PS: Their adopted GD died of an enlarged heart...there was nothing that could be done for her...even by the veterinary cardiologist they consulted.
Yet they chose to adopt again, with all the unknowns. Kobe was 3 days away from the ghastliest form of euthanasia when IDOG pulled him.
Nope...there is a horrible practice used in a lot of rural kill shelters called a "heartstick"...I don't want to turn our "Single Chicks" discussion into a discussion of euthanasia practices, but you can do a Google search for it.
Anyway, he's got a great home, and Jack is once again king of his castle, and "master" of me. But he'd better stop being so stingy with those kisses, or I'm going to get me another four legged boyfriend, LOL
Karen, it's so good to hear Kobe is with such a great familiy and has a nice large house and yard to live in. I hope they have many, many happy years together.
