Doodle Romp

I've never been to a Dog park before and I'm wondering what all the do's and don'ts are.
Also it would be great if we can get a reply from all the Doodle owners that that will be at the Romp at Huntington Beach March 28, 2009. It would be fun to meeet everyone online before the romp.

Hi Bev, My name is Nancy Haver and I can't wait to meet your doodle! My apricot labradoodle is a smaller guy -17" and 27 pounds. His name is Ned. I have an album on my page with pictures from other Huntington Park get togethers. The park is large and has chips/mulch dirt. Your doodle will get probably get dirty! There are some chairs and benches. People seem come more at the beginning of the time frame - and stay a while. It is fun to watch the doodles play.

Dog parks can be fabulous. Two suggestions, bring your own water and don't bring treats (or lots of dogs will follow you around. The doodles hang out together and run and play. It really is alot of fun.
Cody is now 8 months old and has been going to Dog Parks for 3 months. After an hour at the park he is one mellow puppy. Some parks are better than others. We mostly go to the one in Laguna Beach. Hope we see you Sat.

The Huntington Beach Doodle Romp was wonderful! Thanks to everyone who made Willy's first romp a good one. I had fun meeting everyone and he did too, although I think he was more interested in the owners than their dogs. Next time I plan on staying longer. We're looking forward to the romp on April 18th.

Kate Pappas has organized a get together - usually monthly, with breaks in the winter and summer, but I haven't heard about one for May yet. I do know she was going to avoid Mother's Day. Keep clicking on the events page to check for sure. These get togethers are inland at Huntington Central Park. I think that there is a huge romp in Malibu once a year but I am not sure about that date either.
