Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Let's make a  list the Southern California groomers we have used and liked as a resource for others.  If you want more information on a specific groomer, message the person who posted it.

List the groomer and the town they are located in with a brief description of the services you used them for.

Please only post a groomer YOU have used and are satisfied with.  Many excellent groomers do poorly with doodles so we don't want to recommend anyone we have not used for our doodles.  Thanks.

This is not to be an ad so do not cut and paste anything. It is also NOT meant to bash a groomer you did not like.

I live in Riverside. I use Cherie at Creature Comforts. Cherie  groomed Ned through the matting stage and beyond. Her shop is not open every day.  Her prices are extremely reasonable.
Nancy...you should probably make it a "group" so that people can find it easier rather than look around in archives.  It could be something like "Southern California Recommended Groomers".  That way they aren't searching the archives of So. Cal Group, Grooming Group, etc.
Can we make a sub group?
Or we can do what TFG and Photog group have done and create a master list of key discussions and show them on the front of the group page.
Or we can clean up this post and put a hyperink within the description on the main page.
I found out that the group originator is the one who can do the master list so I e-mailed her requesting that she do so.  If she doesn't respond, we can 'corner' her at the next doodle get -together. :-}
Another option is to appoint more administrators to this group and then those admins can edit and add the info I mentioned.  SoCal is a big place, might be good to have a few administrators who can keep the group organized.  Let's await Michelle's response and if she responds tell her we're thinking of adding more admins.  There's no reason only one person has to be admin of a large group.
So Cal is large and there actually are two other groups (Los Angeles and San Diego) but it seems like we all gravitate to the bigger picture.  In Southern California we are just one, big happy family!

Many of you have seen my post "BEST GROOMER EVER!" but I will post it here as well.  We use Taj Mapaw Spa in Anaheim hills.

This shop is on her personal property. She doesn't crate dogs for hours and in fact, doesn't use crates at all. Your appointment time is the time she starts working on your pup and she has a little side yard for the pups to run around in if apts do overlap....but above all, she does a great job grooming doodles.

I COMPLETELY agree!  The owner, Diane, was absolutely fantastic and did a beautiful job on MacKenzie.  I was going for a summer shave down and she allowed me to pick the length by putting her on the table and showing me what different blades did etc. She also definitely knows doodles!  I didn't have to explain the need for the "air channels" under her ears - she was telling me about it!  And of course the most important part to me was that MacKenzie was comfortable and happy.  At the end of the visit, MacKenzie looked like a beautiful doodle AND she still liked Diane...which said a lot to me!

Willy looked great after his visit to Taj Mapaw Spaw. Thanks for the referral. A little further for me to drive but worth it. Willy had backed away and tried to hide behind me when he saw the last groomer I took him to, and he'd never done that before. He loved Diane and all her highly qualified groomers. Daisy had her 'doo' yesterday and they did a beautiful poodle cut and groom on her too. I highly recommend them. They are at the 91 and Lakeview, in Anaheim Hills.

Nancy,

What a great idea about having a groomer list.  I have a six month old goldendoodle from Almond Blossom.  I live in Temecula, southern CA and would love to know of a groomer in my area.  Beckett hasn't needed a groomer yet but I know it's on the horizon.  I'm hoping someone has had a good experience in my area.
