San Diego breeder advice or experiences

Hi, my family has placed a deposit on an F1 from goldendoodle San Diego. Does anyone have a puppy or dog from there? What is your experience as far as the picking, health, temperament? I've met one puppy from there so far and got some good tips but I want to get all the info I can. Thanks :)

Also, I'm open to info about other breeders of F1s in the area.

Hi Collette, please read the DK article on What to Look for in a Breeder. This is the best guide for assessing a breeder, and should be used as a checklist for any breeder you consider. 

The breeder you mention above does not have an acceptable health warranty, and I see no mention of health testing of her breeding dogs on her website. Those are two huge red flags. In addition, she posts some false info bout goldendoodles, especially the stuff about hybrid vigor. If you can get your deposit back, I would. 

DK prohibits recommending breeders in discussions, but people can send you private messages.

Thank you. I have read the page. I'm looking for personal experiences from anyone who has actually gotten a dog from the breeder. I have met a dog from that breeder (great dog with a great personality), and spoke with the owner about health, demeanor, etc., and I wanted to get as much information as possible from people that know of this breeder. My family also contacted other breeders in the area, and most have not replied. I understand that the suggestions on the page you mentioned are ideal, but I have placed a refundable deposit and I'm looking to get more information while in this waiting period. Is there a breeder you would suggest by the way? Thanks.

2 more things though. My interpretation of the community guidelines was that a breeder cannot self-promote. I didn't see anything about consumer to consumer as long as it's private or on my page. While the breeder site mentions hybrid vigor, they merely addressed it's controversial nature and didn't clearly take a stance on it in my opinion. Either way, thanks for the advice. I'm looking to get all the info I can so I can analyze and make a good decision on our new family member.

I guess I should clarify that I would like "private messages" about the breeder. I'm not trying to promote anyone, I would just like info for myself. :)
