Hello All! New to the site as well as new Goldendoodle owner as of last Oct. I was curious if there were any organized romps going on anymore, I can’t find any posts since 2016? Or any suggestions of websites where to look? I am in the Miami Beach area and would love to introduce my Brinley to new doodle friends. I noticed the occasional doodle we run across at the local dog park seem to “ know” and and gravitate toward each other as they have the same or similar, goofy disposition! A romp sounds like fun!!!

Hi Marianne! 

So sorry to disappoint you Marianne and your doodle Britney! Yes, I stopped organizing the romps after my Dudley developed Fear Based Aggression (he was attacked by a foster...long story) and can't safely attend romps anymore. The woman who organized the group prior to me alternated where the group met, using Happy Tails Park as a base (sort of) and alternating to a few other places further north  and east. I tried to organize after she stepped down, but one of the members kept pressuring the group to have the romps in her "private" dog park in Aventura, which was not convenient for many members who were used to meeting in the large Dog Park in Plantation.  And we sort of fizzled out. Some of our core members moved and others lost their doodle to age or disease. However,  perhaps some folks would be eager to attend romps with their furbabies as many people like you are new to the area. I learned so much from talking to other doodle owners! If you would like to see who's interested you might post to theSouth Florida Doodle meet up on FB (if you are interested in organizing it I'd be happy to add you as an administrator). I left the page up in hope that other doodle parents might find each other. There is a SouthFlorida Doodle Meet up Group on FB as well. Ellen is administrator of that page and has been organizing up until this past December.  (I've not seen her post a romp since) I think it may have a larger member base as she is very vocal on chats in doodle discussions  and inviting folks to the group. I'm sure she'd be delighted to organize a romp. This page the largest number of people who might be interested. If I can help in any way please let me know. And please consider organizing...there is a need for our babies to romp together!
