3 questions that I could use answers to:
Your patient needs a liquid medication; the bottle contains 200mls of the medication. You need to give 30% of what is in the bottle. How many mls do you give to the patient?
The doctor’s order reads start 1 liter of Plasmalyte with 2.5% dextrose. How much Plasmalyte do you remove?
And how much Dextrose do you add if your Dextrose is a 50% solution?

I don't see any questions.
Sorry-It showed when I previewed-I guess I didn't follow through.
I got the first one, the other 2 are why I posted it.
What brought these questions up? Are you looking at a job application cause I just found one with similar questions?
I may be missing the point but I think you would give 67 ml.
I think the Plasmalyte with 2.5% dextrose is a prepared solution and so I'd just start the solution.
The last question makes no sense. If you want a 50% dextrose solution you already have it. How much would you add for what?
Yes F That's why I need it!!
Well, I'd politely tell them that the third question makes no sense and I'm not sure the second one does either. You would need to add Plasmalyte, without glucose , to bring the percentage of glucose down. So I'd dilute the solution by 100%. For example, if I had one amount of Plasmalyte with %0% glucose I'd add another equal amount without glucose to make a 2.5% dextrose in Plasmalyte solution. Hope this helps..
So that would make 2 & 3 trick questions? I'm afraid to answer them!
I can understand but those are what my answers would be. I'd say for the second question that I would add not remove Plasmalyte and the third I'd say that the question doesn't really make sense. I do think they seem to be trick questions. Have you trained to be a vet tech?
Nope I was applying for the customer service LOL!
Then I think you don't have to answer the questions. Is it for Lakeside or something like that?
Lakeshore Vet They are opening another one near my house.
Those 3 questions come up right on the application form to be sent online. So who knows. This application is a shot in the dark anyway.
