Where is the line going to be drawn? Who is to say what is ethical and what is not?  I have my opinion my beliefs and my value system....that I know what I think... how about you? How do you feel about cells being used to advance taste of a Pepsi product?,

Absolutely but I don't think there is a need for priorities. The stem cells are not in short supply. I believe the restrictions are for research using federal funds and I think Pepsi must be footing the bill for this so I have no problem with it.

I hear what you're saying and agree for the most part.  However, because of the tendency of the media to slant things and the tendency of certain "radical" groups to latch onto isolated "evidence" to support their opinions, I can see how Pepsi's use of stem cells to "fine tune" the flavor of their Pepsi Next might give ammunition to the anti-stem cell groups.  As in:  "Stem cell advocates say that stem cell research will be limited to life-saving, disease-curing ventures, but look at this - they're aborting babies so that they can sell more soda!"  As the mother of a daughter with MS, I fully support stem cell research, as it offer great hope of a cure or prevention for demyelinating disorders.  I'd hate for anything to get in the way of such research.

I agree,,,i think presenting stem cell research needs to be done I a different light. Ina more factual, way. Seriously, I just think people do not understand better. I agree keeping your moral thoughts out of this is helpful..but btw, I am anti abortion...but extremely pro stem cell, and yes having those two beliefs do not contradict themselves.

I agree Deanna, MS IS probably goi g to be up there with one of the first diseases to be helped for stem cells. I just am a bit edgy about stem cells hitting the world for appearance again I. The name of Pepsi...most people I fear will feel like that is despicable . And once again stem cells are going to get a bad rap.

I will be posting soon a very interesting article and brand new breakthrough for a certain percentage myself NOT included yet of people with CF that are now taking a pill that is actually changing the way people with CFs bodynreadsnthe DNA and codes for a proper CFTR response.
