Acana has added three new flavors. They are on sale at doggie food.com now. The flavors are Chicken and Burbank Potato, Duck and Barlett Pear, and Lamb and Okanagan Apple. These all have oats as a single source of grain. I haven't decided if and what I'll buy since I still have 2 bags of my "winter supply left.

Dianne Carter had posted about the new Acana flavors in the comments section the other day, and even posted a photo. They are apparently limited ingedient formulas, which is helpful for many of us. However, they are not grain-free, they do contain oats. Here are Dianne's FB comments about the new formulas:
"Look what we just picked up Wednesday night, new ACANA formulas! Orijen and ACANA are the top picks for the fuel that drives or doodles. The new formulations are not grain free, but the only grain is steel cut oats and they are terrific limited ingredient (single protein source) options with a lower protein content for those that prefer it. The new flavors are not yet available through out the U.S. but they have just arrived in our area and are as follows: ACANA Duck and Bartlett Pear ACANA Lamb and Okanagan Apple ACANA Chicken and Burbank Potato The four legged staff at Trinity Doodles give these new offerings *Four Paws* "
Whoops, missed that somehow. At any rate they are now available on line.I have been feeding grain free and may stick with that.
I missed that - will add them into our list.
Just thought I would share that despite only using Orijen and the grain free line of ACANA for over 3 years now I decided to throw these into our rotation. We go through 2-3 30ish lb. bags a week around here and every time we open a bag it is a different formula. We have successfully integrated each of these and experienced no difficulties with upset tummies or other issues, stools are the same as always. The dogs have seemed to enjoy it. I do not know that we would always keep these formulas in our rotation but I have been keeping a bag to use as treats. Understandably our situation is different than many, when we change the formula so often they are only eating it for 2-3 days - a dog who changes a stays on it until the bag is gone which may span weeks or longer may have other results.
P.S. We are doing a kind of contest on our fb page taking name suggestions for our newest litter, those who submit the names we draw are to receive one of the small trial bags of the new flavors if you want an opportunity to try a little for free we would love to have your input :)
Thanks for the report. Good to know.

The mention of the name suggestions drawing is about the 5th post down.
Thanks.
So I'm confused. I would like to try the new brands but not sure if I can cross them as I have with the other Acana flavors. We cross both Grasslands and Wild Prairie. If I threw in the new Lamb and Okanagan Apple into the mix it should be okay? Or would I have to introduce very slowly?
Opps, this should have gone under Diane's comment but ended up placed here at the bottom.
IF your dog is okay with grains, or in this case, oats, it should be okay.
Okay. I really hate going in that direction. He gets Oats from his cookies. Of course, that may amount to a tbsp a day. He never eats much, and has no problems with what we have been doing.
Maybe I will try them as treats first. There are some deals out there now for this food but I hesitate. I'll go with my gut.
Thanks
Hi Joanne, I have purchased the Lamb and Okanagan Apple to my Doodle and Lagotto with no issues, they both did great on it. I would say you shouldn't have to introduce it slowly given its really the same brand, less crude protein the ONLY hold up I would say is IF your doods have issues with Steel Cut Oats, as these 3 new flavors are Not GRAIN FREE. I did not mix or introduce slowly and mine did great, nothing changed with upset tummies or loose stools. Let me know if you try it, what you think and what your doods think.
