After I cut up a mango i usually chew on the core before I throw it out because there is so much good fruit left on it. I was thinking I bet Bogey would love to chew on this. Does anyone know if it would hurt him. Figured I could just give it to him for a little while and then take it away before he could eat the core.

Aside from the fact that I don't know if the mango seed itself might be bad for a dog, I'd worry about the ease of swallowing parts or all of the seed. I don't think this is a good idea. Better safe than sorry. Apparently all parts of mango plants can cuase contact dermatititis in sensitive individuals, just as an aside.
I give mine a slice or two of mango when we eat them.... He seems fine and loves it! I wouldn't give him the seed though. They are really flimsy and I would imagine he could chew through it in a second. :-)

The seed has the same toxin that the skin has that causes the contact dermatitis that F referred to.  I let Haley have little pieces of the flesh but never the skin nor do I let him chew on the seed.

I agree with the others. A piece of the fruit itself might be fine, but I would not give the core. There are lots of fruits that dogs love and that are safe to give, we don't have to give them everything. :-)

The flesh yes, but the core no.  As others have said a lot of fruits are safe but the skin/cores/pits are not.

Luna loves mangoes :)

Guess I'll just keep chewing on the core my self.
I have nothing to add but you made my mouth water for a mango!
