Bentley seems to be tired of the same old dry dog food. I thought I would change from the chicken to lamb, and see if he likes it better. Since it is the same brand of food, do I need to introduce it slowly?

Being the same brand doesn't mean much; are the two formulas from the same line within the brand?

Example: Wellness is a brand, it has three lines: Complete Health, which is a healthy grain formula, CORE, which is a grain-free line, and Simple Solutions, which is an LID line. Each line has a very different nutritional profile, but all of the formulas within each line are similar. Simple Salmon has the same basic nutritional profile as Simple Turkey, for example. You could switch from one CORE formula to another cold-turkey without any transition, but you couldn't do that if you were going to switch from a Simple Solutions formula to a CORE formula or to a Complete Health formula, or vice versa.

Does that make sense?
Which food are you currently feeding?

Karen, thank you for answering. Yes, it is the same line. It is Blue Buffalo Life Protection formulas.

They are very similar, and the calorie content is one calorie more, so you should be able to transition cold turkey with no issues, and you would keep the same feeding amount.
