All,

Just sharing a letter I received from Chewy today, although I am certain others here have received something similar. In short, it says Chewy will no longer carry Fromm products, per Fromm instructions.

Chewy
I’m sorry to let you know that Fromm Family Foods will no longer be available at Chewy and will only be available while supplies last. Fromm has decided to limit their distribution and will no longer service Chewy customers.
I am very disappointed by Fromm's decision to end their retail partnership with us because it greatly impacts you, our customer. Their business decision to limit distribution was clearly not in the best interest of customers like you, who have come to rely on Chewy to feed your furry family.
When I founded our company my mission was simple, deliver the highest quality products at the best prices and provide an unmatched customer experience. We have always put our customers and their pets at the center of everything we do. That’s why we have the most knowledgeable customer service representatives in the industry dedicated to providing best-in-class customer service and adding personal touches to online shopping with handwritten cards and hand-painted portraits of your pets.
It’s particularly upsetting that despite all of my company’s efforts and personal relationships throughout the years, Fromm has decided that they will no longer service our customers.
I urge all customers who are affected by this to personally contact Fromm directly to let them know you rely on the convenience of delivery and value the personalized service you receive from Chewy. Unfortunately, for many of you this decision will result in your inability to get these products in a convenient way. Please encourage Fromm not to put their corporate interests above the interests of their customers and their pets.

Wellness Core Ocean has 417 calories in a cup, 34% protein (Six Fishes is 38% protein and I know it is over 400 calories in a cup) and the staff at Wellness suggested an alternate called Wellness Simple which is salmon and potato, being their very allergy free food option at about 427 calories a cup, but the protein is much lower at 25%. Both are available at Chewy.

Zignature Trout and Salmon, Grain Free is 30% protein and 420 calories in a cup. I think I might try the Wellness Core Ocean because it is closer in protein to the Six Fishes by Orijen.

If you have been an Orijen customer at Chewy, they are offering 50% off any new food you order to replace Orijen, up to three different times. I received an e-mail about this today.

Jack eats Wellness Simple Salmon & Potato, because of his IBD. It's a very good food, and he does very well on it, but I do supplement his diet with fresh home cooked chicken to boost his protein intake. Homemade food makes up about a third of his diet for that reason.  I agree you would be better off with the CORE.

The CORE Ocean has 417 kcal/cup, so you may have to feed only a tiny bit more.

Yes, it just came today and I let him try a little bit tonight. How do I convert to a new food? Just breakfast for 4 days, and then lunch for 4 days, if no reaction, then add dinners?

That sounds like a good plan.

Thank you!

At first Pierre seemed to be okay with the Wellness Core Ocean, but I have been noticing him leaving a few kibbles in the bowl, which he never did with Six Fishes Orijen. I did poop patrol and found some loose dog plops. Not all, but maybe half of the stools. Is it common to have loose stools when slowly switching foods? I did a taste test, and put a little of both kibble on the floor. He went straight to the Six Fishes, and then ate the Core Ocean. I see he has a preference. I will give Core Ocean a little more time. I may have to source Six Fishes from a new vendor if this does not work out.

I noticed that when I switch food, my dogs' digestive systems take a while to settle.  However, I notice that some times my dogs' ( not all three at once) stool is soft - no reason that I can pin it on.
