Hello

I am on another FB page for canine nutrition and the subject (never ending debate) of coconut oil started.  There are several holistic vets on the FB group and they stated that coconut oil CAN be digested by canines just NOT as efficiently as humans and that there are MANY benefits to giving canines coconut oil just don't reply on the coconut oil for balancing your Omega 3 and 6.  Does this sound correct?  I have read numerous articles by other animal nutritionist  that disagree with using coconut oil and that canines CANNOT digest coconut oil or any plant based oils and there is no reason to give coconut oil to canines.

I saw this article on fish oil and Vitamin E.  What are your thoughts???

What all do you use in your "winter scrub"? I like using it on my skin, too. A few drops of lavender oil added to it is great for relaxing after an evening shower.

Winnie loves it, too! Too much, though. I tried putting it on a little dry spot on her skin and she almost created a hot spot by trying to lick it off. :-(   I'd like to try it as a paw butter. Maybe if I use just a tiny amount she won't go after it?

This is my scrub recipe. I tweak it a little each time but this is the basic, I measure out all my sugar and salt and put it in equal parts a little at a time. :)

Thanks! Minus the salt, I'd be tempted to taste it... :-)

I use coconut oil as a moisturiser and I love the smell and how it works on my skin.   As for eating it or giving it to my dogs to eat, I will definitely be passing on this!
