I need help--Fromms has some crazy feeding guidelines on its puppy foods (regular and large breed gold).
One bag I have has a feeding guidelines sticker on it that says for a 3-4 month old large puppy to feed 2-2 1/4 cups per day, and to feed 2-3 cups per day for a giant dog. Another bag I have (same brand, food, size of bag, etc.) has no sticker, and has weights not just sizes. For a 3-4 month old puppy up to 50 lbs it suggests feeding 3 5/8 cup per day.
The Fromm website says for a 40-50 lb. dog 3-4 months old, they should eat 4-4 1/2 cups per day!
All 3 of the above say totally different things!
The same is the case with the large breed puppy food--the bag says to feed 2-2 1/4 cups per day for a large dog or 2-3 cups per day for a giant dog, but the website says for a 50-60 lb. dog to feed 6 - 6 3/4 cups per day.
I am just trying to figure out how much to feed my dog without either completely starving her or turning her into a fat slug. There is a giant difference between the recommended feedings on each location.
Can anyone help figure out how much I should actually be feeding her? She is 4 months old now, and will be 60-65 pounds fully grown. We had been feeding her about 2 1/2 cups per day of the regular puppy food, but she has not been putting on weight so we've been increasing it. Now I'm concerned that she should have been getting more than twice the amount, so we really might have been starving her.
I've contacted Fromm about the huge discrepancies, and am waiting to hear back, but in the meantime does anyone know how much I should actually be feeding Lilly (and how I can figure it out as she continues to grow?)?
Thanks!

What is Lilly's current weight?
Right now she weighs 31 pounds, and she's underweight--too thin right now, so I knew we needed to increase her food, but couldn't believe the discrepancies in feeding guidelines and had no idea where to start to figure out the right amount.
I'm looking at the Fromm website, the Puppy Gold formula, and it says that for a 3-4 month old puppy in the 30-40 lb range, you feed 3 and a quarter to 4 cups per day. I am confused as to why you are looking at the feeding guidelines for a bigger dog? You use the guidelines for what the dog weighs now, not what they are going to weigh. If she was only getting 2 and a half cups per day, it's no wonder that she's too thin, lol. I don;t know what's up with the stickers, as I have no way to look at those, but I would disregard that and go with the website guidelines for her current weight and age. Try 3.5 cups per day.
You do not need a "large breed" formula.
However, the guidelines for the large breed formula for a 3-4 mo. old puppy weighing 30-40 lbs is 4 and a quarter to 5 cups per day. That's because large breed formulas contain fewer calories per cup, so you have to feed more.
