Deer antlers? Any thoughts?

Hello all!! I am wondering if deer antlers are something I can give Hunter.  My husband is a hunter and his friend got a buck this weekend and my husband took the antlers (and other parts!) for Hunter.  I know that the antlers that I have bought Hunter in the past have been elk.  Does anyone have any thoughts or know a reason Hunter shouldn't have the deer antlers?

This is a great discussion, especially since it is deer season! I was wondering about this very thing when a friend and a neighbor asked me if Daisy was chewing on an antler (by the way she has had hers since her birthday and not a dent)...he is going to give me his IF they are not mount worthy - that is if he actually bags a buck with antlers and you know that is what he is looking for.
I am going to write my brother, an avid hunter, right now and tell him to save me the antlers.
