I bought a jar of this the other day, on a whim.  Turns out the dogs are crazy for it.  Great for taking pills or as a treat.  Have other people tried it?  Is it okay to feed?

Jay, is it Dogsbutter? I can't find an ingredient list or nutritional analysis on their website, but the product was recalled a year ago for possible salmonella contamination. The fatty acids in the products are not harmful, but they're also pretty useless for dogs.

Personally, I'd just use plain old human peanut butter or cream cheese.

The ingrediets are listed here. I reached a similar conclusion.

F, I saw this, but i am still not seeing an ingredient list or nutritional analysis here. Am I blind?

All I see is: It simply has peanuts, golden flaxseed and palm fruit oil.

No calorie info or fat/protein percentages.

Flaxseed oil is pretty useless for dogs. Palm fruit oil, while lower in saturated fat than palm kernel oil, is still not a great fat source for dogs.

I can't see any benefit to this over regular peanut butter.

No percentages or calories true. But the ingredients are enough to say, WTD? Plain unsweetened peanut butter without added stuff is better : )

To me it seems like a somewhat pricey way to get what you can get by buying natural peanut butter without additives. The flax seeds won't do any good. The palm fruit oil, whatever that is, is not necessary and probably not wonderful for the dogs.

Exactly.

Yep. My store has a peanut butter grinder. You can make your own. I would assume, you could do the same at home if you had the right kitchen utensil.

What ever happened to Baby Oscars?  Someone borrowed mine and never returned it. I miss those popular Oscars of the 80s

The 80’s, you must be old : ) what's a baby Oscar?

I remember when I was little we had something called a cuisinart.  I remember some spirited discussions about whether it saved enough time chopping and shredding to justify cleaning it.

I remember those too. They were horrible.  Oscars were so easy to use and clean. The Baby Oscar made great food, easy to clean, and small enough to just keep on  your counter.

Truth, I did try it in a coffee grinder and I dont recommend that at all

I have one I use every couple of years. Each time I have to figure out how to put it together, that' seven harder than cleaning them. But they do still make them too.
